PIA MidAmerica provides a variety of educational programs throughout its four-state region. The majority of these programs are designed to meet the specific needs of CEOs, HR professionals, CFOs, environmental/health and safety experts, and sales managers.
The association also offers monthly webinars on various technology and management topics (based on recent industry developments), as well as a variety of half-day seminars in its major metropolitan areas--Austin, Dallas/Fort Worth, Oklahoma City, and Kansas City.
The association provides free membership and programming to secondary or post-secondary graphic arts educators in Kansas, Oklahoma, Missouri, and Texas. Through the Nolan Moore Foundation (the association's not-for-profit educational foundation), a variety of grants and scholarships are provided to printing management/technology students and instructors. The Foundation has provided over $200,000 in support since its inception in 1996.
The association maintains a strong monitoring program focused on tax and environmental regulatory issues.
There are two distinct social activities sponsored by PIA MidAmerica--the Graphic Excellence Awards Competition (GraphEx) Gala and the association's golf tournaments. The galas are held in Dallas and Kansas City each year and recognize the competition's winning entries. With an attendance of nearly 500 in total, these are by far the largest industry social events. The association also sponsors two golf tournaments each year.
Through its quarterly newsletter Advisor and weekly electronic newsletter Hotline, the association provides information regarding industry trends, business practices, as well as updates on association
activities. A variety of services are provided through the association website, including a membersonly job posting service and its online Buyer's Guide--PrintAccess. The association also promotes events, programs, and member news through social media.
